If you didn’t realize it already, Markus is a major history buff. I also like history, but I tend to go for historical fiction and movies. When Amazon Prime came out with The Legend of El Cid, we were hooked!

Did you know that we named our companion brand “Tizona” after El Cid’s battle sword? Next time you pick up a bottle, look at the filigree of the label and imagine the inspiration from the sword which was forged from Damascus steel in 1040. You can even go visit the real sword on display in a museum in Burgos, Spain.  In 2016 we brought a bottle of our Tizona wine to present to the museum director.

We aren’t the only ones who got hooked on the series, so did our kids and even our dog, Nadia!

 

It always helps to sip on some Bokisch wine while watching a Spanish movie! The subtitles seem to be a lot easier to grasp!
