Patatas Bravas – Spain’s Most Popular Tapa

October 22, 2010 by admin

Recipe: Patatas Bravas

Summary: There are a million different ways to make the “brava” sauce. This is an easy recipe my sister-in-law taught me and the kids love it!

Ingredients

  • 6 yellow potatoes (peeled and cut into 1″ cubes)
  • 1/2 onion (minced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 Tbsp Spanish Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Tabasco Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. Saute onion and garlic in 3 Tbsp olive oil until soft. Add paprika, Tabasco and crushed red pepper.
  2. Pour into a bowl and mix in ketchup and mayonnaise. Season with salt & pepper.
  3. Fry potatoes in olive oil until golden brown. Serve them while they’re hot with the ‘brava’ sauce.
