Carmelized Pearl Onions and Manchego Skewers

Carmelized Pearl Onions and Manchego Skewers

Prep time:  20 mins

Cook time:  20 mins

Total time:  40 mins

Ingredients
  • 1 bag small pearl onions
  • ¼ cup Bokisch Rosado or Verdejo
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • Manchego cheese cut into small triangles
  • skewers
Instructions
  1. Boil onions in water for 2 minutes, plunge into a bowl of iced water. Slip off skins.
  2. Heat wine and sugar mixture until liquid becomes a syrup, add onions to let poach.
  3. Remove onions and let cool on a small plate.
  4. Skewer the onions with the manchego pieces.
  5. Drizzle with the remaining wine syrup and serve.
